Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Selefkos Nicator (ranked 2355 p4p, 247 weight class) and Ben Smith (ranked 1759 p4p, 202 weight class). Smith has chosen Bleached - Hard to Kill as his entrance music. Selefkos Nicator has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Selefkos Nicator!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ben Smith!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, David Hoff and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith stalks Nicator and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Nicator's face. Nicator staggers backwards, shaken.
Smith throws a looping overhand right but Nicator ducks down to avoid it.
Nicator tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Smith manages to circle out of the way.
Smith circles away from the clinch attempt
and Smith counters with a nice uppercut.
The fight stays on the outside here - Nicator looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A little jabbing left from Smith on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Smith lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Nicator at a distance.

and Nicator takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nicator darts in and clinches Smith up against the cage.
Nicator tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Smith lands a shot to the body.
The referee calls for Smith to work.
Nicator tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Smith just stands there and leans against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith lands a hook that snaps the head of Nicator backwards.
Nicator jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Smith walks away with a smile on his face. Nicator gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Selefkos Nicator. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nicator wants to clinch.
Smith is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Nicator wants to clinch
and Smith cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Smith throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Smith tests Nicator's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A swing and a miss from Smith.
Nicator definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Nicator moves in looking to clinch but Smith pushes him off.
Nicator darts in trying to clinch
and Nicator takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.


Nicator is rocked!

Nicator closes the distance and pushes Smith back into the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Smith taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Nicator tries to pull guard but Smith forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Nicator jumps guard but Smith stands there with Nicator around his waist. Nicator gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Nicator is trying to pull guard but Smith turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Smith breaks from the clinch.

Nicator instigates a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smith lands a shoulder strike.
Smith lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Nicator.
Smith lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Nicator or not.
Nicator is breathing heavily.
Smith lands with a light punch inside.
Nicator is trying to pull guard but Smith has him pressed against the cage.
Smith pushes Nicator back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Nicator drags the fight down to the ground.
Smith tries to stand but Nicator is controlling from the bottom.

Smith stands up from Nicator's guard - Smith perhaps looking for a knockout.
Smith stuns Nicator with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ben Smith dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Smith feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Nicators jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Smith drops Nicator with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Nicator looks back up at him and smiles so Smith waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Oh Nicator is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Smith looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Smith plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Nicator to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Nicator just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ben Smith!
Ben Smith decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
