Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vainio moves into the clinch.
Mattson is looking to break free of the clinch but Vainio has double underhooks.
Mattson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Vainio just stands there and leans against the cage.

Vainio had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Mattson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Vainio Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Mattson's back instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mattson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mattson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Vainio tries to strike from the bottom but misses.

Mattson decides to take the fight back to the feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vainio decides to return to a standing position.
Mattson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Vainio manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Vainio shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mattson pinned against the cage. Mattson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Mattson is going olschool here, as he tries to force Vainio to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Vainio shrugs it off.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mattson goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Vainio is on top in guard.

Mattson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vainio's guard.
Vainio wants to stand and escape but Mattson is having none of it.
Mattson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Vainio's head.

In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
