Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dennis Garrison! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lewis Jones! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones lands a nice shot that snaps Garrison's head back.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jones. Garrison does a little dance to reset his feet. Jones throws out a powerful jab. Garrison shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side. Jones swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Garrison ducks right into an uppercut from Jones. Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Garrison. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Garrison walks into a straight right hand from Jones.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garrison is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jones sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Jones jabs Garrison to the body, keeping him at a distance. Jones tests Garrison's chin there with a solid looking shot. Garrison defending well as Jones loads up on a big left hand. Garrison throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Jones counter with a right hand. Garrison really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Jones throws a jab when Garrison was well out of range. Garrison drops down looking for a counter takedown but Jones sprawls and moves away. Lewis Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Garrison takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Garrison ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Garrison on the wrong end of a nice hook. Jones thuds his right hand into Garrison's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Garrison ducks under a wild hook from Jones. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Garrison on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Garrison drops his hands momentarily and Jones takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Garrison is rocked! Garrison misses with a combination
and Jones counters with a lovely straight right hand! Oh Garrison is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Jones lands a nice shot that snaps Garrison's head back.
BOOM! Jones lands a beautiful left hook that drops Garrison. Garrison tries to recover but Jones is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Garrison lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lewis Jones!
