Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Duke Johnson (ranked 6021 p4p, 555 weight class) and Aleksandar Volkanovski (ranked 5701 p4p, 537 weight class). The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volkanovski fails with an attempt to clinch.
Johnson with a lazy takedown attempt
and Volkanovski counters with a three punch combo that has Johnson backing up. Johnson nods at Volkanovski to acknowledge the strikes.
Johnson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Johnson went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Volkanovski clinches with his opponent.
Johnson is looking to take this one to the mat.

Johnson goes for a takedown in the clinch but Volkanovski prevents it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnson works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Volkanovski tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Johnson lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Johnson has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Volkanovski defend it? Johnson steps over the head and cranks it - Volkanovski is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Johnson!
