Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Solomon Cook (ranked 4006 p4p, 32 weight class) and Ozutsu Fukumatsu (ranked 15277 p4p, 223 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Solomon Cook! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Ozutsu Fukumatsu! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cook tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Cook throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Cook scores with a kick to the midsection. Cook throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Fukumatsu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cook manages to avoid it. Cook fires out a quick counter leg kick but Fukumatsu just manages to avoid it. Fukumatsu throws a body shot but no joy. Fukumatsu takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Cook catches Fukumatsu with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Fukumatsu moves into range and connects with a jab. Cook on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. We've been informed that Fukumatsu has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Fukumatsu connects with a body shot that sends Cook's belly button to the back. Cook uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cook misses with a double jab.

It looks like Solomon Cook has been cut. Fukumatsu throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Fukumatsu has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Cook. Cook uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fukumatsu.
Fukumatsu avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Solomon Cook seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cook looks to score with a jab to the body but Fukumatsu is just out of range. Cook displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Fukumatsu throws out the jab. The fighters circling - Fukumatsu throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Fukumatsu just misses with a punch to the body.
Cook lands with a shot to the body. Cook scores with a head kick. Fukumatsu tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. The crowd cheers as Cook lands an impressive looking overhand right. Fukumatsu doesn't seem phased though. Fukumatsu misses the jab. Cook uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fukumatsu.
Fukumatsu steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cook. Fukumatsu takes a swing at Cook's ribcage but misses. Cook throws a nice outside leg kick. Cook closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. Fukumatsu can't find room to land a body shot as Cook controls the action.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Fukumatsu. I was talking to Cook's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Fukumatsu goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Cook lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Fukumatsu or not. Fukumatsu looks winded! This has been an exciting period of action! Cook lands with a light punch inside. Cook scores with a nice hook to the head. Fukumatsu lands a body punch. Cook wants to stall.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cook lands a right hand that snaps the head of Fukumatsu backwards. Cook misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Cook is working Fukumatsu over against the ropes. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cook trying to control the position but instead, Fukumatsu has worked for underhooks and has pushed Cook into the ropes. The fighters are pressed against the ropes, as the pace of the fight slows. Cook lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cook scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Solomon Cook is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Fukumatsu takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Cook closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Cook tests Fukumatsu's chin there with a solid looking shot. Fukumatsu avoids the head kick by Cook.
Cook explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Cook misses with the combination.
Cook lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Nice straight punches there by Cook. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Cook. Fukumatsu takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Fukumatsu takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Fukumatsu thows a left - swing and a miss! Cook pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Fukumatsu throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cook throws a jab when Fukumatsu was well out of range. Fukumatsu has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Cook. Cook closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cook looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Cook rushes Fukumatsu and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. Fukumatsu throws a head punch that misses. Cook has a couple of punches blocked by Fukumatsu.
Cook gets through Fukumatsu's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. A short uppercut from Cook. Fukumatsu struggles to land a body shot inside as Cook controls his hands.

Fukumatsu tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Cook's elbow. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Cook here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Fukumatsu misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Cook scores with the left hand. Fukumatsu knows he should have avoided that one. Cook is looking to slow Fukumatsu down with leg kicks. Cook fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Fukumatsu. Fukumatsu is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Cook rather than just go for the knockout. Fukumatsu takes one to the chin there. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Cook throws a head kick that misses. Fukumatsu loads up on a big right hand but Cook slips the punch. Fukumatsu takes one to the side of the head.

Fukumatsu is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Fukumatsu misses with a hook. Cook ducked under it nicely. A solid leg kick lands there for Cook.
Fukumatsu walks straight into a perfectly timed right hook, crumpling him to the floor! Fukumatsu is in all kinds of trouble here - can he beat the count? 3,4,5,6,7,8,9....10 - he's out and it's by a long way too - he didn't ever look like beating that count!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Solomon Cook! After the fight, Solomon Cook was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
