PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Crocodile Dundee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Rey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Crocodile Dundee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jimmy Rey!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rey stuffs the takedown attempt from Dundee. Dundee gets slowly back to his feet.

Dundee closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Rey won't allow Dundee to pass to mount.
Dundee thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Rey wants to control but Dundee is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Dundee is looking to advance position but Rey won't allow it.
Rey tries to roll over but Dundee keeps him under control.
Rey is staying active underneath Dundee, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Dundee looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rey with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Rey trying to control but Dundee postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Rey tries to clinch up but Dundee circles away and keeps his distance.
Dundee misses with a looping left.
Rey doesn't manage to clinch there - Dundee circles away.
Dundee misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dundee looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Crocodile Dundee. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dundee is breathing heavily.
Dundee takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Crocodile Dundee has been cut.

Rey closes the distance and pushes Dundee back into the cage.
Rey scores with a shoulder strike.

Rey breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Dundee changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rey tries to avoid it but Dundee manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rey to the ground. Rey escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Crocodile Dundee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dundee fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rey manages to avoid it.
Rey throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rey fakes the leg kick and cracks Dundee in the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rey tries to clinch up but Dundee circles away and keeps his distance.
Rey drops Dundee with a nice combination! Rey dives into Dundee's guard, looking to finish!


Dundee is rocked!
Rey distracts Dundee with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Oh Dundee is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dundee has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rey trying to control but Dundee is working from the bottom.
Dundee keeping full guard, as Rey tries to pass.
Dundee seems to have got his legs back now.
Dundee will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Dundee keeping moving, preventing Rey from controlling successfully.

Dundee throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dundee is looking for a triangle but Rey pushes his legs off easily.
Rey stands up over Dundee, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Rey keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Rey wants to clinch.

Rey misses with a series of wild punches.
Dundee is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Rey.


Crocodile Dundee's cut is getting worse.
Rey fails in his attempt to clinch.
A head kick misses from Rey.
Rey throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Rey swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rey keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Rey clinches up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dundee wants a takedown but no success here.
Rey lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Rey manages to break the clinch.
Dundee shoots in but Rey avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Dundee looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rey is fending him off so far but Dundee persists. Nope, Rey circles away and we're back to standing.

Rey knocks Dundee to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rey creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Dundee sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Rey trying to control the action but Dundee is working from the bottom.
Dundee wants to control but Rey postures up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rey trying to control the position but Dundee is working away.
Dundee tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jimmy Rey dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Crocodile Dundee's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!



Dundee feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Rey looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dundee is one step ahead there.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dundee throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rey's waist but Rey gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dundee off to one side.
Rey throws a right hand that Dundee ducks under and follows up with a left that Dundee also avoids with ease.
Dundee stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Rey.
Nice combo by Rey! Oh, that's hurt him - Dundee falls to the canvas and Rey follows him into side control.


Crocodile Dundee's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Rey takes a little break here. Dundee wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Dundee is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Rey trying to control the position but Dundee is working away.
Rey advances to mount.

Rey scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dundee is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Rey putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Dundee working to try and regain half guard.
Rey trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Dundee is in all sorts of trouble here.
Dundee takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.


Jeez, Crocodile Dundee's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Crocodile Dundee's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Jimmy Rey!
