Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ferenc Puskas (ranked 4034 p4p, 430 weight class) and Willy Brandon (ranked 2289 p4p, 281 weight class). Puskas's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ferenc Puskas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Willy Brandon!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brandon moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Nice takedown defense from Brandon. No joy for Puskas on that attempt.
Brandon misses with a double jab
enabling Puskas to counter with a crisp jab.

Puskas fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Brandon, pushing him back against the cage.
A short body shot lands from Puskas as the two fighters clinch.

Brandon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Puskas tries to pull guard but Brandon holds him up against the cage and eventually Puskas drops back down to his feet.
Puskas has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Brandon is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Brandon decides to return to a standing position.

Puskas has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Brandon.
Nice uppercut lands for Brandon. That snapped Puskas's head back.
Brandon misses the jab.
Puskas swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Brandon looks for the body kick but Puskas saw that one coming.
Puskas's corner calls for a 1-2. Puskas obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Puskas takes one on the button.
Puskas tries to clinch up.

Brandon gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Puskas to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Brandon is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Puskas is controlling him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brandon preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Brandon is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Brandon is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Brandon wants to hit a switch here but Puskas passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Brandon there!

Puskas thowing shots but they're missing.
Brandon is looking to get to half guard.
Brandon tries to lock up and control but Puskas gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Puskas jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Brandon is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Brandon and Puskas has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Brandon avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Puskas.
Puskas tries to advance to mount but Brandon denies him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Puskas controls the position from side control.
Puskas trying to control the position but Brandon is working away.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Puskas tries to advance to mount but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Puskas ducks under a wild hook from Brandon.

Brandon looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Puskas gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Brandon is trying to force a seperation but Puskas has the dominant position.
Brandon looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Brandon breaks the clinch.
Willy Brandon seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Brandon looks to score with a jab to the body but Puskas is just out of range.
Puskas tries to clinch there but Brandon circles away.
Brandon appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Sloppy strikes from Brandon. Those never looked like landing.
Brandon wants to slow Puskas down by chopping away at his legs.

Puskas lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Brandon sprawling to the canvas. Puskas follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Brandon hang on?


It looks like Willy Brandon has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Brandon wants to improve his position but Puskas is controlling well.
Puskas is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Puskas is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Brandon to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Puskas is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Brandon can do to turn this around?
Brandon is controlling Puskas's posture.
Puskas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brandon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Puskas slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Puskas trying to control the position from guard on top but Brandon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Puskas wants to pass the guard but Brandon is keeping the position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

A jab from Brandon finds it's way through Puskas's defenses.
Willy Brandon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brandon throws a hook to the side of Puskas's head but Puskas sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Puskas is looking to clinch but Brandon is avoiding it.
The fighters circling - Brandon throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Brandon dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Brandon tries a head kick but it misses.
Brandon throws the kick towards the body but Puskas avoids it.
Brandon keeps the fight on the outside.
Brandon thuds his shin into the meat of Puskas's side.

Brandon defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Puskas.
Puskas tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Brandon replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Puskas blocks it well.
Brandon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Puskas moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Brandon tries to land a front kick but Puskas steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Puskas moves into the clinch.
Brandon is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Puskas has Brandon pressed against the cage, preventing Brandon from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Brandon wants to get back to striking at distance but Puskas won't allow it.

Puskas breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Brandon misses with a takedown attempt - Puskas sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Puskas feints and as Brandon raises his hands in defense, Puskas changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Brandon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Puskas stands and steps away. Brandon gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Puskas closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Brandon has one foot on Puskas's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ferenc Puskas will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Willy Brandon's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Puskas tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Puskas avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
As Brandon tries to get set, Puskas tries to push him back and clinch up but Brandon manages to avoid the attempt.

Puskas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Brandon's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Puskas appears to be looking for a big counter.

Puskas shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Brandon pushes Puskas off and gets back to his feet.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Brandon throws a head kick but Puskas moves out of range.
Puskas moves away from the strike by Brandon.
Puskas jabs Brandon right on the nose. Brandon blinks but takes it well.

Brandon tries to keep at a distance but Puskas has taken the fight into the clinch.
Brandon is looking to break free of the clinch but Puskas has double underhooks.
Brandon wants to get back to striking at distance but Puskas won't allow it.

Puskas pulls Brandon into guard.
Brandon won't allow Puskas to sweep him here.
Brandon stands and throws Puskas's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Puskas parries the strikes from Brandon easily there. Brandon is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Puskas to escape.
Puskas manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Puskas is looking for a sweep. Brandon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Brandon thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Ferenc Puskas is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Puskas has hold of Brandon's hands but Brandon slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Willy Brandon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Puskas has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
