Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Killer Kidd (ranked 1120 p4p, 61 weight class) and Ichiro Suzuki (ranked 1542 p4p, 91 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Killer Kidd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ichiro Suzuki!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Hugh Johnson and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Kidd. No joy for Suzuki on that attempt.
We've been told by Kidd's head coaches at Ass Private Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Kidd looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Suzuki will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kidd lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Suzuki has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kidd.
Ichiro Suzuki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Suzuki takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Suzuki shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kidd but Kidd pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Suzuki moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Suzuki has his takedown stuffed
and Kidd counters with a nice low kick that buckles Suzuki's knee momentarily.
A nice inside leg kick there by Kidd. That's going to slow Suzuki down.

Suzuki on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Suzuki throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kidd's waist but Kidd gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Suzuki off to one side.

Suzuki misses with a takedown attempt - Kidd sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Suzuki shoots for a double leg takedown but Kidd sprawls well. He's pushed Suzuki's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Kidd lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Kidd fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Suzuki looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kidd is fending him off so far but Suzuki persists. Nope, Kidd circles away and we're back to standing.
Kidd jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

and Kidd counters with a nice body kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Kidd throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Suzuki changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kidd tries to avoid it but Suzuki manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kidd to the ground. Kidd escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kidd throws a quick counter kick to the body but Suzuki avoids it.
Kidd lands with a thumping leg kick.
Suzuki gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kidd counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Suzuki darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Kidd kicks Suzuki off and gets back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kidd lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Suzuki needs to keep his hands up - Kidd had a free shot at his head there.

and Kidd counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Kidd catches Suzuki with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Kidd fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Suzuki.
Suzuki dives in and grabs Kidd's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kidd pushes down on Suzuki's head and hops out.

Kidd uses the cage to get back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
