Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mike Evol (ranked 4836 p4p, 371 weight class) and Greg Marshall (ranked 6216 p4p, 424 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Evol! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Greg Marshall! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Alyssa Summers and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marshall shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Marshall showed some decent athleticism there. Marshall is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Marshall winds up and cracks Evol with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Evol is trying to get back to full guard. Evol on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Evol tries to get out of the position. Evol makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Evol. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Marshall with a nice head shot there. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Marshall's corner. There ya go! There ya go! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marshall keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Evol's head. Marshall is pushing down on Evol's leg trying to pass to half guard. Evol is fighting to maintain full guard but Marshall has managed to sneak the leg through. Marshall has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Evol is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Marshall pulls his head out easily. Marshall wants to get back to his feet.
Marshall seems to be working for a kimura but Evol defends the submission attempt. Marshall is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Evol defends it well. Marshall wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Evol wants to get back to full guard but Marshall has passed into side control. Evol gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Evol keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Evol wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Evol fending off the submission attempt from Marshall. Marshall is cranking Evol's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Evol! He's tightened the choke and Evol is tapping out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Greg Marshall!
