Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vuk Pranjic (ranked 3150 p4p, 369 weight class) and Vernon Wells (ranked 3245 p4p, 377 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vuk Pranjic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vernon Wells! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wells scores with a jab to the jaw. Wells avoids the head kick by Pranjic.
Wells lands a jab to Pranjic's midsection. Pranjic takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Pranjic fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Wells checks it well. Wells appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. The fight stays on the outside here - Pranjic looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Pranjic throws a left and a right that both miss
and Wells counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A kick lands to the mid section there for Wells. Wells scores with a hook. Wells lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. A cross from Wells lands. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pranjic takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Pranjic throws out a leg kick but Wells moves out of range and Pranjic only half commits. Pranjic misses with a lunging right hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Wells closes the distance and pushes Pranjic back into the cage. Pranjic can't break the clinch.

Come on Wells - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Wells leaning against his opponent.
Wells receives a warning from the referee for stalling.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wells working some nice short punches in the clinch. Wells lands a body punch. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Wells creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Wells lands a body shot. A nice glancing elbow lands by Wells. Wells lands an elbow inside that Pranjic shrugs off.
It looks like Vuk Pranjic has been cut. Pranjic is breathing heavily. Wells lands a hook that snaps the head of Pranjic backwards. Wells lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. A body shot lands from Wells.

Wells stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. A nice left hand lands by Wells.
Pranjic is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A nice glancing elbow lands by Wells. Oh Pranjic is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Wells pushes Pranjic against the cage. Wells is working some dirty boxing. Wells pushes off with a quick right hook! Pranjic goes down! Pranjic tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Wells moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vernon Wells! After winning the bout, Vernon Wells thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
