Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Breno Gracie (ranked 2543 p4p, 328 weight class) and Raphael Hide (ranked 929 p4p, 134 weight class). Hide is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Nightwish. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Breno Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Raphael Hide!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Chris Edwards and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Some bone on bone action there as Hide checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Hide tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Gracie is able to avoid easily.
Hide scores with a jab.
A cross from Hide lands.
Hide keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Hide avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Breno Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gracie shoots in and drives through. Hide sprawls well.
Hide misses with a leg kick.
Gracie throws a chopping leg kick but Hide manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

and Hide counters with a lovely straight right hand!


It looks like Breno Gracie has been cut.
Gracie swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gracie fails with a takedown attempt.
Gracie throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie throws a head kick but Hide moves out of range.
Hide unleashes a big counter combination but Gracie bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Hide closes the distance and pushes Gracie back into the cage.
Come on Hide - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Hide's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Hide continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.

Hide using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Hide lands a hook that snaps the head of Gracie backwards.
Hide is working Gracie over against the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hide digs a right hand underneath Gracie's ribcage. Gracie let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Hide breaks the clinch.

Hide gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Hide has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Gracie off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Raphael Hide showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Gracie lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Hide takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Hide has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Hide looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Gracie tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hide defends well and Gracie ends up having to push Hide into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Hide looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Well Hide has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Raphael Hide rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
