Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Basile Larousse (ranked 5005 p4p, 200 weight class) and Juan Garcia (ranked 5370 p4p, 208 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Juan Garcia! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Santiago Holmes and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garcia misses the shot to the body. Larousse changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Garcia looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Larousse content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Garcia is looking for a sweep. Garcia gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Larousse working for a guillotine from mount but Garcia is in no mood to give up. Larousse avoids the attempt from Garcia to control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Larousse is working for a guillotine from mount but Garcia frees his head quite easily.

Garcia tries to hold on but Larousse postures up. Larousse looking to secure an arm triangle but Garcia defends it well. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Garcia can do anything to dispel that myth. Garcia tries to lock up and control but Larousse gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Garcia is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Garcia has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Larousse's lack of action.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Garcia tries to roll over but Larousse keeps him under control. Larousse is looking to take a break and control but Garcia is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Garcia tries to get to full guard but Larousse has control of the leg. Larousse controlling the action here. Larousse is looking to advance position but Garcia won't allow it. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Larousse works his foot free and advances to mount. Garcia is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Garcia tries to lock up and control but Larousse gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Garcia is controlling an arm, preventing Larousse from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Larousse tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Larousse seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Garcia is holding on tight.
Larousse prevents Garcia from getting the reversal. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Larousse avoids the attempt from Garcia to control. Larousse with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Basile Larousse dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Garcia throws a big shot that misses. Larousse scores with a takedown into Garcia's guard. Garcia working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Larousse doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Larousse manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Larousse stays in close to Garcia's body and controls the position. Garcia is trying to keep Larousse in close.

Oh no, disaster for Garcia there! Larousse can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Garcia is looking to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Larousse takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Larousse is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Garcia with him. Garcia is trying to defend but Larousse has an arm under the chin now! Garcia grimaces and is forced to tap out!
