The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nurmelainen scores a takedown into full mount!
Katekismus reaches up to try and control the position but Nurmelainen seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Katekismus rolls and tries to escape and now Nurmelainen has his back!

Nurmelainen working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Nurmelainen is trying to stick to Katekismus's back but Katekismus is turning into Nurmelainen. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Nurmelainen's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Katekismus.
Katekismus really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nurmelainen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Katekismus gets to his feet. Nurmelainen looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Nurmelainen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Katekismus tries to bum rush Nurmelainen with a series of wild strikes but Nurmelainen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Nurmelainen is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Katekismus knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Katekismus for a finish.
