The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vila bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Vila now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Vila thows a left - swing and a miss!
Joan Vila seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vila takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
A combination from Vila does no damage.
Elkemenchi tries to counter with a takedown but Vila is quick to defend against it.
Elkemenchi looks to land a right hand but Vila moved out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Elkemenchi. Vila does a little dance to reset his feet.
Vila scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
It looks like Evgeni Elkemenchi has been cut.
Elkemenchi moves out of range of the body kick from Vila.

Elkemenchi uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Elkemenchi misses with a hook. Vila ducked under it nicely.
Vila misses with a looping right.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Vila's coach down at UnderGround Wrestling and Jiu Jitsu was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Vila's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Elkemenchi lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Vila throws a lazy right hand but Elkemenchi sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Elkemenchi walks into a straight right hand from Vila.
Elkemenchi is rocked!
Elkemenchi staying out of range there.
Oh Elkemenchi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Elkemenchi dives in for a single leg takedown but Vila sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Elkemenchi seems to have got his legs back now.
Vila connects with a combination that backs up Elkemenchi into the cage. Vila lands a flurry of punches that gets past Elkemenchi's guard. Elkemenchi is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Vila bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.
