Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Victor Mordino (ranked 3863 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sebastian Rutten (ranked 3173 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 18 - 1, fighting out of London, Victor Mordino!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Sebastian Rutten!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rutten shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mordino as he avoids it easily.
Mordino misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rutten.
Rutten throws a counter combo.

Rutten gets caught napping as Mordino dives in and scores a takedown. Rutten manages to retain guard.
Mordino looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Rutten looking for a sweep. Not yet Rutten, not yet.
Mordino won't allow Rutten to get back to his feet.
Mordino trying to control but Rutten is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mordino stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rutten swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mordino has gone for a leg lock! Rutten slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mordino's guard.

Mordino can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rutten controls the pace.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rutten has gone for a leg lock! Mordino slips out almost immediately though and dives into Rutten's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rutten wants to get back to his feet but Mordino is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Rutten lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Mordino is adopting a defensive guard.
Rutten prevents Mordino from getting back to his feet.
Rutten postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Rutten drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mordino manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rutten has Mordino in his guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Victor Mordino will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mordino's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Rutten moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
