Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Martin (ranked 3520 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Red (ranked 3111 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kurt Red!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Franklyn Lucas and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin darts in looking for a takedown but Red gets double underhooks and turns Martin into the cage.

Martin shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Martin is pressing down on Red's thigh, looking to free his foot. Red is holding on for now.
Martin wants to control but Red is keeping him busy.
Martin frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Red is in all sorts of trouble here.
Martin wants to control the pace but Red is squirming around nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Martin jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Red is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Red and Martin has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Martin tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Martin decides to stand back up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Martin.
Red is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Martin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Red defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Martin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Red closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Martin looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Martin slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Red wants to stand but Martin has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Martin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Martin can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Red controls the pace.
Red really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Martin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Red looking to pass the guard.
Martin keeping moving, preventing Red from controlling successfully.
Martin has his hands on Red's head, controlling the position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Red trying to control the position from guard on top but Martin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Martin looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Red is defending well. Martin quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Red has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Martin celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Frank Martin!
A very excited looking Frank Martin rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
