Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cassius Clay!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robinson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Clay looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Robinson instigates a clinch.
Clay prevents a body shot from Robinson.
Robinson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Robinson blocks an elbow strike from Clay.
Robinson manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Robinson throws a head punch that misses.
Clay told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.
Clay lands an elbow just above Robinson 's eye.
Robinson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Robinson turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Clay wants to get back to his feet but Robinson is dominant here and he's now got Clay's back!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Robinson has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Clay's body.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Robinson is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Robinson gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Robinson gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Robinson apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Clay gets tackled into the cage by Robinson. Robinson maintains the clinch.
Robinson jumps guard but Clay stands there with Robinson around his waist. Robinson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alan Robinson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Clay should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Robinson wants to break the clinch but can't.

Robinson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Clay walks away with a smile on his face. Robinson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Clay lands a good knee to the midsection. Robinson won't want to take too many of those.

Robinson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Robinson tries to get out of the position.
Clay has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Robinson is proving hard to escape from.

Clay is sitting in close to Robinson's body. Robinson has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Clay is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Clay is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Robinson.
