Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chadwick Sloan (ranked 7188 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Mickael (ranked 4400 p4p, 0 weight class). Igor Mickael will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chadwick Sloan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Mickael! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mickael throws a combination that misses and Sloan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Sloan really is a fat lump. Mickael tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sloan swats him away and circles back towards the center. Sloan throwing a counter right hand but Mickael manages to avoid it. Mickael shoots and misses letting Sloan counter with a right hand. Igor Mickael seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mickael scores with a three punch combo!
Sloan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sloan wants it to stay on the feet. Mickael fails with a takedown attempt. Sloan swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Chadwick Sloan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Igor Mickael. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sloan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sloan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mickael doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sloan. Sloan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mickael is just riding it out for now. Sloan eventually gives up the hold. Sloan looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Sloan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mickael trying to control but Sloan postures up.
Sloan throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Sloan tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Mickael keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Mickael on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Sloan looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Sloan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mickael's head. It looks like Sloan is going to stand back up.
Sloan is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mickael sees it coming and defends easily. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sloan lands a nice short elbow. Sloan decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Mickael throws a body kick that misses. Mickael lands with a nice combination. Sloan backs away looking to recover. Mickael fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mickael misses with a takedown attempt and Sloan counters with a straight right hand. Mickael misses with a takedown attempt and Sloan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Sloan circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mickael gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sloan to score an easy takedown into full guard. Mickael looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Mickael looks winded! Sloan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Sloan stands and steps away. Mickael gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Mickael darts in looking for a takedown but Sloan gets double underhooks and turns Mickael into the cage. An attempted straight right counter from Sloan misses the target.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mickael looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Sloan looking to score a takedown here. Mickael is defending well but Sloan drives through and ends up in Mickael's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sloan is in close to Mickael's body, working some short punches and elbows. Sloan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mickael works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sloan postures up and lands a big shot to Mickael's brow. Sloan keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mickael's head. Sloan makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Sloan wanted to stand there but Mickael had control of the position. Sloan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chadwick Sloan dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Mickael shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sloan defends it nicely. Sloan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Mickael pushes Sloan off and gets back to his feet.

Sloan takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Sloan circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sloan was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Some wild striking there from Mickael.
Mickael tries for a takedown but Sloan circles away easily and Sloan counters with a straight right hand. Mickael tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sloan paws at him with a jab and circles away. Sloan is looking to counter punch. Mickael misses with a combination
and Sloan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mickael shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sloan defends it nicely. Chadwick Sloan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Igor Mickael. Mickael tries to clinch up but Sloan circles away and keeps his distance. Mickael tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sloan swats him away and circles back towards the center. Sloan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mickael looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Sloan working the ground and pound from side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mickael is trying to control Sloan's posture but Sloan avoids it. Mickael is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sloan scores with a couple of short elbows. Mickael tries to bench press Sloan off him but Sloan keeps the position. Sloan fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Mickael takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Sloan looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Sloan goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Mickael has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Sloan but great work by Mickael. Sloan gets back to half guard. Sloan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mickael can do to turn this around? Sloan strikes from the bottom but Mickael uses the opportunity to move to side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Sloan tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Mickael presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Sloan can't escape the position.
Mickael trying to control but Sloan is having none of it. Sloan sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Sloan pushes Mickael off looking to stand but Mickael dives back in and keeps control.
Mickael gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Mickael closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sloan circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Chadwick Sloan will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Mickael closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sloan to the mat! Sloan manages to get full guard. Sloan is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Mickael presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Mickael missing with knees to the body.
Mickael blocks an elbow strike from Sloan.

Mickael escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mickael pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mickael pushes Sloan up against the cage in a clinch. Sloan manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mickael is looking to stand up but Sloan won't let him. Mickael's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sloan is looking to stand up but Mickael isn't so interested in that idea. Sloan tries to land a sweep but no joy. Sloan is looking to stand up but Mickael isn't so interested in that idea. Mickael wants to control from the top but Sloan keeps moving. Sloan looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Mickael tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sloan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mickael somewhat. Mickael tries to clinch but Sloan is having none of it. Excellent takedown into side control there by Sloan. Sloan scoring with punches and elbows. Mickael takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Sloan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sloan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Sloan goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Mickael has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Sloan but great work by Mickael.

Mickael dives in for a single leg takedown but Sloan sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Chadwick Sloan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Igor Mickael. Mickael misses with a takedown attempt - Sloan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Mickael tries to clinch up. Mickael doesn't succeed with the takedown and Sloan counters with a nice uppercut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sloan closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mickael did well to prevent Sloan getting side control. Mickael on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Ground and pound from Sloan. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sloan lands a nice short elbow. Mickael on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Sloan is working for a kimura but Mickael is defending it quite comfortably.
Mickael kicks Sloan off and gets back to his feet. This has been an exciting period of action! Mickael has a takedown stuffed.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Chadwick Sloan. Well Sloan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
