Coming up we have a super heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Rodrizinho Chai (ranked 5555 p4p, 48 weight class) and Justin Tate (ranked 4898 p4p, 40 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 1 losses; Rodrizinho Chai! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Justin Tate! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Tate misses with a takedown attempt and Chai counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Chai tightens his grip and picks Tate up, before dumping him to the ground. Tate manages to land in guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Chai (2) vs (0) Tate Tate keeping moving, preventing Chai from controlling successfully. Tate trying to control the position.
Chai controls from within his opponent's guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chai postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chai pushes down on Tate's leg and manages to get into half guard. Chai wants to free his trapped foot but Tate is holding on for dear life with his legs. Chai content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Tate is trying to control but Chai manages to pass to mount!
Score +3 for passing guard: Chai (5) vs (0) Tate Chai jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Tate manages to avoid the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chai tries for a kimura but Tate is defending well. Chai thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Chai works to advance to full mount. Tate defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Score +2 for reaching mount: Chai (7) vs (0) Tate Chai content just to control the position here. Tate is looking to improve his position but Chai isn't that keen on the idea. Chai works his way to his opponent's back.
Score +3 for taking back: Chai (10) vs (0) Tate
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tate is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Chai working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Tate is doing well to defend. Chai seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Tate is forced to tap and this one is over!
