Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Hroch (ranked 2935 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matthaus Gold (ranked 4651 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Winston Alpacca and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gold rushes Hroch and presses him up against the cage.
Gold is working for takedown but Hroch is calmly controlling the position for now.
Hroch is pressed up against the cage. Gold has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hroch down to the mat. Hroch avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Hroch shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gold is trying to defend but Hroch finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Gold wants to get back to full guard.
Hroch wants to pass to mount but Gold is defending the position.
Gold pushes Hroch off looking to stand but Hroch dives back in and keeps control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hroch is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gold is wriggling around but Hroch manages to pass to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hroch is nestled in close to Gold, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Gold tries to roll over but Hroch keeps him under control.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Hroch is trying to control the action in half guard but Gold is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nice takedown defense from Gold. No joy for Hroch on that attempt.

Gold tries to clinch up but Hroch circles away and keeps his distance.

Michael Hroch overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Gold slips a nice elbow through Hroch's hands, connecting with Hroch's forehead.
Gold is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hroch doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gold.
Gold wants to stand but Hroch has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Matthaus Gold showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hroch displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gold.
Hroch pivots, looking for a leg kick but Gold is out of range and Hroch settles back down.

Hroch takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Gold darts in looking for a takedown but Hroch gets double underhooks and turns Gold into the cage.

Hroch swats away the attempt to clinch by Gold.
Gold shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hroch sprawls well. Hroch wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gold gets slowly back to his feet.
Michael Hroch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matthaus Gold.

Well Gold has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
