Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gunnar Mortensson! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Haney shoots in and gets a takedown into Mortensson's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Haney accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Haney working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Haney sitting in guard here, content to control. Haney lands a couple of digs. Haney is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Haney is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Haney controlling from the top position. Haney is working Mortensson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Haney controlling from the top position.

Haney postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Haney has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Mortensson is trying to keep Haney in close.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Mortensson gets a takedown into half guard. Haney has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Mortensson is on him like a limpet, forcing Haney back against the cage. Mortensson turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Haney is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Mortensson off and has taken his back! Haney throwing damaging strikes from the back! Mortensson could be in trouble here!
Haney is landing with strikes from the back. Haney lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Haney.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mortensson is trying to remain composed but Haney is hammering down strikes to the side of his head. Haney controlling from the back. Haney lands with a hammerfist to the side of Mortensson's head. Haney lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Mortensson can't escape the position.
Haney scores with punches and elbows. Haney is riding his opponent, not letting Mortensson buck him off. Haney is punishing Mortensson with strikes - can he finish him?! Haney scores with punches from the back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mortensson is trying to remain composed but Haney is hammering down strikes to the side of his head. I really don't envy Mortensson right now.
Haney lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Mortensson hold on?!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Haney is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Mortensson looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Haney throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Mortensson!
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Haney closes the distance and clinches. Mortensson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Haney regains guard immediately. That's one minute gone in the round. Haney is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Mortensson wants to get up but he can't break Haney's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Haney is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mortensson defends well. That's two minutes gone in the round. Mortensson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Haney is proving hard to escape from. Haney throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Haney working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mortensson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mortensson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Haney is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Haney is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Haney working over Mortensson with some ground and pound. Mortensson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Mortensson is looking to escape.

Mortensson has hold of Haney's hands but Haney slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Mortensson is looking for a sweep. Haney is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Haney looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Nice strikes from Haney there.

Haney takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Haney working the head and body with strikes. Haney lands with a punch from half guard. Mortensson is trying to maintain the position but Haney is very close to passing his half guard. Haney takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Haney slows the pace down in half guard. Haney landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Gunnar Mortensson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mortensson looking to score a takedown here. Haney is defending well but Mortensson drives through and ends up in Haney's guard. Haney manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Mortensson wants to clinch. Haney looks to score with a jab to the body but Mortensson is just out of range. Mortensson throws a right hand that Haney ducks under and follows up with a left that Haney also avoids with ease. Mortensson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Haney pushes Mortensson off and gets back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mortensson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Haney's guard. Haney has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Mortensson has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Mortensson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Mortensson pulls Haney into guard.

Haney is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Haney landing with the ground and pound. Haney slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Haney shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Mortensson pushes Haney off but Haney dives into side control.
Haney is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mortensson can do to turn this around? Haney content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Haney lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Haney lands some shots froms side control. Haney is chipping away with strikes.
Mortensson tries to bench press Haney off him but Haney keeps the position. Haney working the ground and pound. Haney connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Mortensson some visible discomfort.
Haney staying calm. Gunnar Mortensson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jed Haney is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Haney slips into full mount, dodging the strikes by Mortensson.
And that's the end of the fight! Jed Haney showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Haney, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
