Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between David Paddington (ranked 845 p4p, 99 weight class) and Kai Perkins (ranked 1032 p4p, 119 weight class). Paddington's entrance music is Broken - Next time around. A fine choice. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paddington throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Paddington misses with a looping right. Perkins swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Paddington looks to score with a jab to the body but Perkins is just out of range. Perkins blocks a jab. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Perkins ! But no joy. Perkins stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Perkins wants it to stay on the feet. Perkins looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Perkins slips a jab from Paddington. Paddington comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Paddington has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Perkins . Paddington tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Perkins was well out of range. Poor timing from Paddington. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Perkins cracks Paddington with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Paddington's coaches at TZY MMA have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Perkins must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Paddington is looking for a triangle but Perkins pushes his legs off easily.

And that's the end of the fight! Kai Perkins comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Paddington has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today.
