Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doug Raimo (ranked 5111 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Clarkson (ranked 4766 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Doug Raimo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jordan Clarkson!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Sosuke Kotani and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Clarkson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Clarkson lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Clarkson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Raimo gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Raimo is trying to pull guard but Clarkson has him pressed against the cage.
Clarkson is trying to drag Raimo to the mat but Raimo just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee calls for Clarkson to work.
Raimo throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Clarksons head.

Clarkson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Clarkson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Raimo tries to avoid it but Clarkson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Raimo to the ground. Raimo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Clarkson is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Raimo is defending well.
Clarkson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Raimo to keep the fight standing.

Clarkson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Raimo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Clarkson circles away.

Clarkson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Raimo tries a head kick but it misses.
Clarkson changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Clarkson shoots in for a takedown but Raimo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Raimo lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Clarkson backs up against the cage.


It looks like Jordan Clarkson has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Clarkson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Raimo takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Raimo changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Clarkson fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Raimo is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Clarkson pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Clarkson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Raimo drops down looking for a counter takedown but Clarkson sprawls and moves away.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Raimo is trying to break the clinch but Clarkson is controlling him.

Clarkson is pressed up against the cage. Raimo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Clarkson down to the mat. Clarkson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Clarkson shoots for a double leg takedown but Raimo sprawls well. He's pushed Clarkson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Raimo seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Raimo throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Raimo darts in looking for a takedown but Clarkson gets double underhooks and turns Raimo into the cage.
Raimo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Clarkson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Clarkson dives in and grabs Raimo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Raimo pushes down on Clarkson's head and hops out.
Raimo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Clarkson.
Clarkson is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Clarkson slaps away a takedown attempt from Raimo, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Raimo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Clarkson explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Raimo jumps guard and drags Clarkson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Clarkson is breathing heavily.
Clarkson won't allow Raimo to sweep him here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Raimo wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Clarkson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Raimo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Clarkson is looking for a triangle here but Raimo uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Clarkson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Raimo sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Clarkson is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Raimo throws a right hand that Clarkson ducks under and follows up with a left that Clarkson also avoids with ease.

Raimo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Clarkson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Well Raimo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
