Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Greene!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Heartman!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Greene keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
A head kick misses from Greene.
Greene throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Greene clinches up with Heartman and pushes him back against the cage.
A knee to the head by Greene.
Greene lands a damaging elbow.
Heartman fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Greene escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Heartman shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Heartman showed some decent athleticism there.
Heartman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Greene is just riding it out for now. Heartman eventually gives up the hold.
Greene is not content to let Heartman control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Heartman might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Greene kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Heartman looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Heartman sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Greene defending well though.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Heartman is trying for a kimura here. Greene looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Heartman wins by kimura!
