Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, James Bogger! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny Zapp! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bogger moves out of range of the strikes. Nice body punch from Zapp. Zapp gets a takedown into half guard. Bogger has one foot on Zapp's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Bogger fails to land with a series of punches.
Bogger lands an overhand right. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bogger's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Zapp connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Bogger scrambles back to his feet. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Bogger!
It looks like Johnny Zapp has been cut. Zapp closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Bogger's guard. Zapp throwing strikes but missing. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Bogger wants to stand and escape but Zapp is having none of it. Zapp wants to control from the top but Bogger keeps moving. Bogger keeping full guard, as Zapp tries to pass.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Bogger cracks Zapp with a right hand to the side of the head. Bogger misses with a two punch combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zapp gets a double leg takedown into Bogger's guard. Zapp won't allow Bogger to get back to his feet. Bogger looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Bogger keeping full guard, as Zapp tries to pass. Zapp throws a big right hand that misses. Bogger wants to get back to his feet but Zapp is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Zapp throws a big elbow that misses. Zapp is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Zapp stops Bogger from standing up. Zapp thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Zapp stops Bogger from standing up.

Bogger works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Bogger connects with a leg kick. Zapp looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Zapp throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Bogger lands a leg kick that knocks Zapp off balance momentarily. Bogger fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Johnny Zapp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Zapp gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Bogger. Bogger moves out of range of the strikes. It looked like Bogger was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Bogger is looking to slow Zapp down with leg kicks. Bogger gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Zapp to score an easy takedown into full guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bogger keeping moving, preventing Zapp from controlling successfully. Zapp being controlled here momentarily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bogger is trying to control the position but Zapp postures up. Bogger keeping full guard, as Zapp tries to pass. Bogger uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Bogger feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Zapp's calf. Bogger tries a head kick but it misses.
Zapp bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Bogger throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Zapp closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bogger to the mat! Bogger manages to get full guard. Zapp pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bogger is keeping the position for now. Zapp prevents Bogger from getting back to his feet. Bogger has Zapp pulled in close to control his posture. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Bogger dominated that round. The cut man is working on Johnny Zapp's cut. That's time! Bogger's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Zapp takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Zapp looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bogger is fending him off so far but Zapp persists. Nope, Bogger circles away and we're back to standing. Zapp swings for the body but Bogger moves out of range.
Zapp scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Zapp wants to free his trapped foot but Bogger is holding on for dear life with his legs. Bogger tries to kick Zapp off but Zapp keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Zapp trying to mount his opponent but Bogger defends it. Zapp seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bogger does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zapp trying to mount his opponent but Bogger defends it. Bogger is looking to escape. Zapp wants to pass the guard but Bogger is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bogger is trying to stand up here but Zapp is controlling him well. Zapp is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Johnny Zapp has got the better of the ground game so far. Bogger is in trouble now - Zapp has advanced to mount! Zapp won't let Bogger get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Bogger wants to hold on but Zapp pushes him away. Bogger's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Bogger holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Zapp tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Zapp looking to ground and pound but Bogger is blocking nicely. Bogger tries to hold on but Zapp postures up. Bogger wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zapp misses with a head shot. Bogger wants to get back to his feet.
Zapp throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Bogger is looking to improve his position but Zapp isn't that keen on the idea. BOOM! Zapp connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Zapp controlling from mount. Zapp is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Zapp!
