Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between El Caca (ranked 4573 p4p, 492 weight class) and Arturs Shelby (ranked 3755 p4p, 0 weight class). Arturs Shelby has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Winston Alpacca and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caca misses with the combination.
Caca gets caught napping as Shelby dives in and scores a takedown. Caca manages to retain guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Caca wants to get back to his feet but Shelby is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Shelby not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Caca kicks Shelby off and gets to his feet.

Shelby throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Caca swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Shelby shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Caca as he jumps to the side.
Caca has Shelby up against the cage in a clinch.
Shelby breaks the clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Shelby.
Shelby goes for a double leg but Caca avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Caca continues to drive forward.
As Shelby looks to move away, Caca throws a big counter combo but Shelby just gets out of the way.
El Caca has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arturs Shelby.
Shelby goes for a double leg but Caca avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Caca continues to drive forward.

Shelby tries to close the distance and clinch up but Caca swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Caca shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Shelby sprawls well. Shelby wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Caca gets slowly back to his feet.

The fighters circle momentarily. Caca darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Shelby swings wildly with an uppercut but Caca uses good head movement to avoid it.

Shelby jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Caca walks away with a smile on his face. Shelby gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Arturs Shelby seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shelby swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Caca is looking for a counter combo.
Caca misses with the body kick
and Shelby counters with a takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shelby misses with the ground and pound.
Caca wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Caca seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Caca feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Shelby has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Caca is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Shelby has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Caca after a bit of a struggle.
Shelby has Caca pressed against the cage, preventing Caca from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Caca escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shelby tries to clinch but Caca moves out of range.
Shelby displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Caca throws out the jab.

Caca feints a jab promting Shelby to slip. Caca then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Shelby slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Caca fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shelby manages to avoid it.
Nice takedown defense from Caca. No joy for Shelby on that attempt.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Shelby manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Arturs Shelby showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Shelby's coach down at Island Sparring was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Shelby's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Caca is looking to escape.

Shelby is looking for a kimura but Caca is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Shelby to get the leverage.
Caca avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Shelby.

Caca is squirming around, avoiding Shelby's attempts to control the action.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Shelby trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Caca is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Shelby content just to control the position here.
Shelby wants to control the pace but Caca is squirming around nicely.
And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to El Caca.
I think Caca has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
