Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steve Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bas Tard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Steve Wright! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bas Tard! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Ren Mimura and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wright misses with a body kick. Tard shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Wright is trying to maintain the position but Tard is very close to passing his half guard. Wright tries to kick Tard off but Tard keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Tard decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Wright slips under a jab from Tard. Tard has a takedown stuffed. Tard fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wright looks for the body kick but Tard saw that one coming. Tard swats away the attempt to clinch by Wright. Tard misses with a head kick.
Tard fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Wright fails with the takedown and Tard counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Wright looks like he's trying to stand up.
Tard is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Tard slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wright is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Tard tries to free his leg and advance position but Wright is retaining full guard. Tard working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Wright's head. Wright is looking for a triangle but Tard pushes his legs off easily.
Wright is breathing heavily. Tard's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wright escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tard gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Tard stands and steps away. Wright gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Tard scores a takedown into full mount! Wright tries to lock up and control but Tard gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tard landing punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wright is trying to escape the mount.
Tard lands a heavy elbow. Tard looking to control and managing it successfully. I looks like Tard might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Tard get's back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bas Tard dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Tard closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Wright is trying to control Tard's posture but Tard avoids it. Tard stands up and beckons Wright to his feet. Tard fails with a takedown attempt. Wright cracks Tard with a good jab. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wright throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Wright dodges the punch combination from Tard.
Wright looks to clinch and Tard counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Tard working some strikes from top position. Wright looking for a guillotine here but Tard defends easily.
Bas Tard has got the better of the ground game so far. Wright controls Tard momentarily but Tard frees himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tard slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Tard looking to pass the guard. Wright is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wright throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Tard fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Wright sprawls well initially but Tard persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Tard trying to control the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tard lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bas Tard showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Tard shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Wright is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Tard pulls his head out easily. Wright wants to control but Tard is keeping busy and won't allow it. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Still in half guard, Tard seems content to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wright taking some punishment here, with Tard in his half guard. Wright on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Tard is working for a submission of some sort.
Tard is pressing down on Wright's thigh, looking to free his foot. Wright is holding on for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Tard decides to return to a standing position. Tard misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tard fails with a takedown attempt. Tard fails with an attempt to clinch.
Wright tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Tard counters with a shoot takedown. Wright fights it but they end up in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wright is looking to stand up but Tard isn't so interested in that idea. Wright is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Tard's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Wright trying to keep a closed guard but Tard is proving a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Tard decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. A solid body kick from Tard. Wright tries to clinch but fails miserably and Tard counters with a nice double leg into guard. Wright is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Wright wants to stand up but Tard is controlling him.
And that's the end of the fight! Bas Tard comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Tard winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
