Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Gulay Shinawatra (ranked 6261 p4p, 483 weight class) and Yevgen Maartins (ranked 6977 p4p, 512 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Gulay Shinawatra! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yevgen Maartins! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shinawatra connects with a leg kick. Maartins looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Maartins takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Shinawatra feints and then cracks Maartins's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Maartins down. Maartins uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shinawatra.
Shinawatra uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Maartins. Shinawatra half committed to a counter leg kick. Maartins takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Shinawatra throws a jab but it's blocked by Maartins. Shinawatra has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. A head kick from Maartins lands but Shinawatra takes it in his stride. Maartins tries to close the distance and clinch but Shinawatra swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Maartins misses the shot to the body. Maartins ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Maartins wants to clinch up but Shinawatra keeps it at a distance. Shinawatra keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Shinawatra half committed to a counter leg kick. Shinawatra pivots, looking for a leg kick but Maartins is out of range and Shinawatra settles back down. Maartins looks to land a body kick but Shinawatra moved away. It looked like Shinawatra was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Shinawatra moves away from the strike by Maartins. Maartins fails in his attempt to clinch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A big right from Maartins misses. A head kick misses from Maartins. Shinawatra moves out of range as Maartins strikes. Maartins throws a looping overhand right but Shinawatra ducks down to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice straight punches there by Shinawatra. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Shinawatra. Shinawatra steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Maartins. Shinawatra paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Maartins keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Maartins follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. A head kick misses from Shinawatra. Shinawatra throws a body punch but Maartins moves out of range. A good leg kick by Shinawatra. Maartins tries to land a front kick but Shinawatra steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Maartins throws a looping overhand right but Shinawatra ducks down to avoid it. Shinawatra wants to land a leg kick but Maartins is out of range. Shinawatra connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Maartins lands a right hook to the body.
Maartins misses with a body kick. Shinawatra bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Maartins's head backwards. Shinawatra lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Maartins throws a push kick but Shinawatra slaps the foot to one side. Maartins throws a half hearted mid kick. Shinawatra is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Maartins. Shinawatra's corner calls for a 1-2. Shinawatra obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Maartins tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Shinawatra moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shinawatra swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Shinawatra throws a jab but it's blocked by Maartins. Maartins is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. Shinawatra lands a glancing blow to the side of Maartins's head. Maartins moves away from the strike by Shinawatra. Shinawatra moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromMaartins. Shinawatra fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Maartins manages to avoid it. Shinawatra misses with a body shot.
Maartins tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Shinawatra manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. A quick step to the side and Shinawatra tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Shinawatra tries to land a leg kick but Maartins saw it coming and moves away.
Shinawatra motions for Maartins to come forward. Shinawatra throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Shinawatra pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Maartins walks into a jab. Maartins takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Maartins tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Maartins takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Maartins looks to score with a jab to the body but Shinawatra is just out of range. Maartins goes for a high kick. It partially lands. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gulay Shinawatra dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Shinawatra tries to land a front kick but Maartins steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Maartins throws a sloppy head kick and Shinawatra moves out of range easily. Shinawatra getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Maartins throws the kick towards the body but Shinawatra avoids it. Shinawatra avoids the head kick by Maartins.
Shinawatra is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Maartins can do to turn this around? Danga de danga de dang - Maartins scores with a four punch combination! Maartins steps in and throws a big head kick that drops Shinawatra to the mat! Shinawatra looks in trouble, can he beat the count? Maartins is bouncing in a neutral corner joining in with the referee '4,5,6' they both chant. 7,8,9... he's not going to make it! 10! He's out! Maartins jumps onto the ropes and takes in the acclaim from the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Yevgen Maartins! Our winner, Yevgen Maartins, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
