Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Linus Akerman (ranked 1716 p4p, 233 weight class) and Matheo Rojas (ranked 2546 p4p, 329 weight class). Rojas has chosen Rodrigo Amarante - Tuyo (Narcos Theme Song) as his entrance music. Linus Akerman has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Linus Akerman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matheo Rojas!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rojas throws a body punch but Akerman moves out of range.
Akerman tried to counter with a leg kick but Rojas avoided it.
Matheo Rojas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rojas has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Akerman.
Akerman throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Rojas lands with an uppercut that bounces Akerman off the cage and back into range.
Akerman defending well as Rojas loads up on a big left hand.
Akerman ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Akerman was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Rojas jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Rojas misses with an uppercut. Akerman saw that one coming.
Rojas works Akerman's body with a nice hook.

Rojas lunges at Akerman with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Akerman's hand.

Rojas has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Rojas throws a good cross that connects.

Rojas tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Akerman was well out of range. Poor timing from Rojas.

Rojas goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Akerman's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Rojas connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Akerman scrambles back to his feet.
Rojas bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Akerman moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Akerman throws a leg kick but Rojas moved away.
Akerman finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Akerman misses with a jab to the body
and Rojas counters with a nice body shot.
Akerman walks into a stiff left hand from Rojas.
Rojas tries to bum rush Akerman with a series of wild strikes but Akerman uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A lazy left from Rojas finds it's target.
Rojas misses with a two punch combination.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Akerman has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Akerman there as he acknowledges the shot.

Rojas throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Akerman gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Rojas.
A combination from Akerman does no damage.
Rojas slips under a jab.
Rojas swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Akerman walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Rojas steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Akerman.
Rojas misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rojas staying out of range there.
Rojas cracks the inside of Akerman's front leg.
Rojas connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Akerman's hands.
Rojas tries to work over Akerman's front leg with a kick but Akerman checks it.
Rojas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Akerman feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Akerman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rojas manages to avoid it.
Akerman looks to land a left hand but Rojas moved out of range nicely.
Rojas lands a jab to the head.
Akerman goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Akerman has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Rojas finds it's way round the side to connect with Akerman's head.
Rojas misses with an uppercut.
Rojas lands a leg kick that knocks Akerman off balance momentarily.
Rojas throws the left hand but Akerman avoids the punch easily.
Rojas feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Akermans jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Akerman ducks under a wild hook from Rojas.
Akerman throws a leg kick which misses Rojas's front leg but catches the back leg as Rojas tries to avoid it.
Rojas looks to score with a jab to the body but Akerman is just out of range.
Rojas throws a shot from downtown. Akerman moves away and avoids it.
Akerman is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Rojas.
Rojas fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Rojas tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Akerman is able to avoid easily.
Akerman moves forwards but Rojas connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Rojas scores with a jab to the head.
Akerman on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Rojas. Rojas obviously looking to wear him down.
Rojas moves out of range of the leg kick from Akerman.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Akerman uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Rojas.

Rojas avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Good standup being displayed there by Rojas as he connects with a hook.
Akerman on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Akerman looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Rojas tries to keep at a distance but Akerman has taken the fight into the clinch.
Rojas doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Akerman tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Rojas's elbow.
Rojas tries to throw a body punch but Akerman avoids it by throwing Rojas back against the cage.
Rojas tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Akerman manages to break the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rojas throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Rojas throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Akerman.
Rojas moves into range and connects with a jab.
Akerman swings away with a body shot that misses
and Rojas counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Rojas lands a nice looking body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matheo Rojas dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Rojas connects with a good right hand that stumbles Akerman. Akerman circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Akerman scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Rojas doesn't seem bothered though.
Rojas misses with a few strikes there.
As Rojas backs away, Akerman returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Akerman connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Rojas avoids the body shot from Akerman.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Akerman, as that shot connected.
Rojas rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Akerman connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


Rojas is rocked!
Akerman fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Rojas square on the jaw! Damn, Rojas is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Linus Akerman!
After winning the bout, Linus Akerman thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
Matheo Rojas was interviewed post fight and said 'Life is full of surprises, some good, some not so good.'.
