Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Earl Jeffries (ranked 1588 p4p, 211 weight class) and Floyd Maybetter (ranked 3495 p4p, 379 weight class). Maybetter has chosen Don't Stop The Funk as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Earl Jeffries !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 1, fighting out of London, Floyd Maybetter!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maybetter shoots in for a double leg but Jeffries sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A shot to the body from Jeffries misses
and Maybetter counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Jeffries steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Maybetter.
Maybetter misses with an uppercut. Jeffries saw that one coming.
A big left from Maybetter misses.

Maybetter moves into the clinch successfully.
Maybetter tries to work over Jeffries 's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Jeffries comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Maybetter softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Maybetter misses with a punch on the inside.
Jeffries blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Maybetter decides to pull guard.
Jeffries is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Maybetter working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jeffries doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jeffries manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Jeffries won't allow Maybetter to sweep him here.

Maybetter not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Maybetter working for submissions but it's allowed Jeffries to get to half guard.
Maybetter is looking to get back to full guard here but Jeffries has managed to pass to side control instead.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Maybetter is trying to get back to half guard.
Maybetter is being controlled here.
Maybetter is looking for a sweep.
Jeffries slows the pace down.
Maybetter is looking to regain half guard here but Jeffries keeps moving and retains side control.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Maybetter staying out of range there.
Maybetter looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Maybetter connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Jeffries 's hands.
Jeffries swings for the body but Maybetter moves out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Maybetter throws a combination. Jeffries tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Jeffries moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Maybetter has his takedown stuffed
enabling Jeffries to counter with a crisp jab.


Maybetter is rocked!
A looping hook to the body misses from Jeffries . Maybetter does a little dance to reset his feet.
Jeffries circles away from the clinch attempt.
It looked like Jeffries was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Maybetter.
Jeffries throws a series of strikes that have Maybetter backpedaling.
Maybetter is still on wobbly legs! Can Jeffries finish him?
Floyd Maybetter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Maybetter scores with a hook.
Maybetter moves out of range of the strikes.
Maybetter seems to have recovered his senses.
Maybetter moves in looking to clinch but Jeffries pushes him off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Floyd Maybetter will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Maybetter takes a shot to the head.
A right handed body shot lands from Jeffries .
Jeffries throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Maybetter jumps guard but Jeffries turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Jeffries stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Jeffries gets through Maybetter's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Maybetter working aggressively here.
Jeffries doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Maybetter throws a head punch that misses.
Jeffries throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Maybetters head.
Maybetter misses with a hook from the clinch.
Jeffries lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


It looks like Floyd Maybetter has been cut.
Jeffries misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Jeffries lands a nice elbow.
Jeffries cracks Maybetter with a nice body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jeffries comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Jeffries gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Maybetter is breathing heavily.
Jeffries pulls back and lands a big elbow that stuns Maybetter! Jeffries unloads with more strikes and Maybetter sinks to his knees! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Earl Jeffries !
A relieved looking Earl Jeffries thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
