Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robert Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Santichai Jetatikarn!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Paul Tew and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jetatikarn misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Diaz tries to counter with a takedown but Jetatikarn is quick to defend against it.
Jetatikarn moves away from the strike by Diaz.

Jetatikarn is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Diaz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jetatikarn's waist but Jetatikarn gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Diaz off to one side.

Diaz closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jetatikarn did well to prevent Diaz getting side control.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Jetatikarn is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Diaz seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jetatikarn for as long as he can get away with.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jetatikarn tries to kick Diaz off but Diaz keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Diaz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jetatikarn does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Jetatikarn throws a sloppy head kick and Diaz moves out of range easily.
Jetatikarn scores with a head kick. Diaz tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Jetatikarn tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Diaz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Diaz looks for a takedown but Jetatikarn sprawls well.
Despite the aggression on Jetatikarn's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robert Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Diaz gets hit by the mother of all head kicks and drops to the canvas in a crumpled heap! Woooow, the Internet is going to be talking about this one for weeks!
