PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tom Creature (ranked 5930 p4p, 467 weight class) and Benny Woody (ranked 6420 p4p, 485 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Creature!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Benny Woody!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Creature smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Creature lands a jab-cross combination.
Woody misses with a takedown attempt
and Creature counters with a left to the body.
We've been told by Creature's head coaches at 3Band MMA ($800/week) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Woody shoots in looking for a takedown. Creature tries to sprawl out of it but Woody keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Creature manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Woody takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Woody fails to land the takedown.
Tom Creature has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Benny Woody.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Woody showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Creature.
Woody has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Creature misses with a two punch combination.
Woody tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Creature counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Woody thinking.

Creature connects with a body shot that sends Woody's belly button to the back.

Creature misses with a few strikes there.
Creature sizes up Woody with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Creature shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Woody eats them both and turns towards Creature to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Woody is rocked!
Creature throws a monster overhand right that drops Woody! Creature follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
