The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bates shoots and misses
and Garak counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Garak's jab looks to have found its range, popping Bates under the eye.
Bates looks to score with a jab to the body but Garak is just out of range.

Bates closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Garak is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Garak is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Bates couldn't care less - he's delighted!
