Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Grant Mcpherson (ranked 4714 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick OConnor (ranked 4711 p4p, 464 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Grant Mcpherson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Patrick OConnor! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! OConnor fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Mcpherson checks it well. Mcpherson rushes OConnor and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. OConnor drags the fight down to the ground.
Mcpherson gets to his feet. OConnor looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Mcpherson dives in for a single leg takedown but OConnor sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Mcpherson moves to clinch but OConnor breaks away and OConnor counters with a one-two to the body. Mcpherson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has OConnor pinned against the cage. OConnor gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. OConnor is looking for the big counter here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Some wild striking there from OConnor.
That's one minute gone in the round. OConnor gets off balance looking for a body kick and Mcpherson counters with a lovely shot to the body. OConnor ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Mcpherson forces OConnor back against the cage and clinches. OConnor pressing his opponent against the cage. Mcpherson tries to pull guard but OConnor holds him up against the cage and eventually Mcpherson drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Grant Mcpherson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mcpherson managing to block the knees to the body from OConnor.

OConnor decides to pull guard. OConnor is looking to stand up but Mcpherson isn't so interested in that idea. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. OConnor being controlled here, momentarily. Mcpherson stands and steps away. OConnor gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. The fight moves into the clinch position. OConnor prevents the takedown attempt.

OConnor pulls guard effortlessly. Mcpherson stands and steps away. OConnor gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Mcpherson is looking to clinch but OConnor is avoiding it.
OConnor is looking for the big counter here. Mcpherson slips a jab and a cross from OConnor.
Mcpherson gets tackled into the cage by OConnor. OConnor maintains the clinch. Mcpherson gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from OConnor.
OConnor lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Mcpherson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Mcpherson tries to score a body lock takedown but OConnor shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Mcpherson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Mcpherson is looking to clinch but OConnor is avoiding it.

It looks like Grant Mcpherson has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! OConnor avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mcpherson gets in close and instigates a clinch. OConnor's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. OConnor forces Mcpherson back against the cage and clinches. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Patrick OConnor dominated that round. The cut man is working on Grant Mcpherson's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Mcpherson moves to clinch but OConnor breaks away and OConnor counters with a three punch combo that has Mcpherson backing up. Mcpherson nods at OConnor to acknowledge the strikes. OConnor throws a sloppy head kick and Mcpherson moves out of range easily. OConnor rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mcpherson moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Patrick OConnor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. OConnor gets a clinch. Mcpherson doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
OConnor is trying to pull guard but Mcpherson has him pressed against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. OConnor pulls guard effortlessly. Mcpherson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Mcpherson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcpherson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on OConnor, up you get! Mcpherson wants to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mcpherson avoids the head kick by OConnor.
Mcpherson fails with a takedown attempt from distance. OConnor misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
OConnor throws a lazy head kick letting Mcpherson counter with a right hand. Mcpherson tries to clinch up but OConnor circles away and keeps his distance. OConnor lands a jab-cross combination. Mcpherson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has OConnor pinned against the cage. OConnor gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Both fighters circling a little - OConnor finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. OConnor clinches up with Mcpherson and pushes him back against the cage. Mcpherson prevents a takedown attempt there.
Mcpherson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. OConnor just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Grant Mcpherson. That's going to take a lot out of him. OConnor is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Mcpherson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as OConnor walks away with a smile on his face. Mcpherson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A combination from OConnor does no damage. OConnor has Mcpherson up against the cage in a clinch.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Mcpherson tries to pull guard but OConnor forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Mcpherson jumps guard but OConnor stands there with Mcpherson around his waist. Mcpherson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. OConnor breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Mcpherson looks to clinch and OConnor counters with a three punch combo that has Mcpherson backing up. Mcpherson nods at OConnor to acknowledge the strikes. Patrick OConnor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Grant Mcpherson's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Mcpherson is rocked! OConnor feints a jab and as Mcpherson dips his head, OConnor unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Mcpherson right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Mcpherson falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! OConnor smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:12 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Patrick OConnor! Patrick OConnor decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
