Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Lewis (ranked 2780 p4p, 337 weight class) and Georgi Konds (ranked 3395 p4p, 389 weight class). Lewis comes to the cage accompanied by DMX - Slippin. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kyle Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Georgi Konds!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lewis shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lewis showed some decent athleticism there.
Konds wants to stand back up but Lewis manages to pass into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lewis controls the position.
Konds really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lewis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Konds is trying to control Lewis's posture but Lewis avoids it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Konds tries to improve position but can't.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Konds takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Konds tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Konds is being controlled here.
Konds prevents Lewis from moving into mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Lewis in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Lewis works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Konds stops Lewis from passing to mount.
Lewis cracks Konds with a big right hand but Konds just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Lewis controls the position from side control.
Lewis advances nicely into full mount.
Lewis tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Lewis has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lewis seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Konds for as long as he can get away with.

Lewis is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Lewis!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Kyle Lewis!
