Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Harper (ranked 1016 p4p, 147 weight class) and Barry Jones (ranked 578 p4p, 84 weight class). Jones comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Raining Blood - Slayer kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Barry Jones!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Aafke Stam and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones misses with a body shot.
Harper drops down looking for a counter takedown but Jones sprawls and moves away.
Jones fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Harper looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Jones swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Barry Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Harper at a distance.
Harper looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Harper thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Jones is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Harper is aware though and is defending well.

Harper got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jones has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Harper has managed to get both his arms back between Jones's legs - danger averted.

Harper drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Harper jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Jones has his foot on Harper's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Harper works his way back into a safe position though.

We've been informed that Jones has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Harper avoids the body shot from Jones.
Harper catches Jones with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Harper half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Harper doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Harper manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

I think Harper has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
