Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Ramon Gracie (ranked 143 p4p, 20 weight class) and David Morrison (ranked 1641 p4p, 189 weight class). Gracie kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Jiu Jitsu: Vai Finaliza!. Morrison has chosen Diary of a Madman as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; Ramon Gracie! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 23 wins and 11 losses; David Morrison! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paul Aken and Saam Ante.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Gracie closes the distance and pushes Morrison back into the cage. Gracie has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Morrison avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Morrison has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Morrison lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Gracie is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Morrison's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Morrison's back! Morrison rolls, trying to escape but Gracie keeps control of the position.

Gracie is trying to stick to Morrison's back but Morrison is turning into Gracie. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Gracie's guard. Gracie trying to keep a closed guard but Morrison is proving a slippery customer.
Gracie is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Morrison is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Morrison advances to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Morrison in particular looking to stall. Let's hope that Morrison has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Morrison trying to control from half guard but Gracie is working away. Gracie moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Gracie keeping full guard, as Morrison tries to pass.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Morrison wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving. Morrison preventing the sweep. Morrison is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Morrison trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gracie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Morrison manages to get himself to full guard.

You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Gracie keeping moving, preventing Morrison from controlling successfully. Gracie makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gracie. Gracie looking to hit a scissor sweep but Morrison is one step ahead there. Gracie controls Morrison momentarily but Morrison frees himself. Morrison wants to pass the guard but Gracie is keeping the position.

That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Gracie gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Gracie is trying to maintain the position but Morrison is very close to passing his half guard. Morrison controls the action. Gracie preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Morrison. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Morrison has the hooks in. Gracie is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
