Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Masa Wasa (ranked 1881 p4p, 110 weight class) and Techno Viking (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wasa comes to the cage accompanied by Welcome To The Jungle. Viking has chosen Techno Viking as his entrance music. Masa Wasa is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 17 wins and 14 losses; Masa Wasa! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Techno Viking! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Daniel Blasius and Wagner Zegers.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Viking moves into range and clinches up with Wasa. Viking tries for a takedown but Wasa manages to get underhooks.
Viking pulls guard effortlessly. Wasa preventing the sweep. Viking looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Wasa forces his way into half guard. Wasa looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Wasa trying to control from half guard but Viking is working away. Wasa has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Score +3 for passing guard: Wasa (3) vs (0) Viking We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wasa controlling his opponent. Viking is trying desperately to improve position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wasa struggling to keep hold of the position.
Wasa seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Viking's chin but Viking turns very nicely into Wasa's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Viking.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Wasa is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Viking wants to pass the guard but Wasa is keeping the position. Wasa controls Viking momentarily but Viking frees himself. Wasa keeping moving, preventing Viking from controlling successfully. Wasa wants to sweep here but Viking controlling him for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Viking pushes down on Wasa's leg and manages to get into half guard. Wasa trying to control here.
Viking is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wasa is just riding it out for now. Viking eventually gives up the hold. Viking looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Wasa wants to improve his position but Viking is controlling well.

Wasa is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Viking is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Wasa is defending against the submission attempts here by Viking.

Wasa regains full guard. Nicely done. Viking stopping the sweep attempt from Wasa. Wasa manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Viking manages to get himself to full guard.
