Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Blaze Thomas!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Starr.
A right-left combo lands from Thomas.


It looks like Tommy Starr has been cut.

Starr gets the takedown into side control.
Thomas tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Starr wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Thomas trying to remain calm as Starr controls from the top position.
Thomas stops Starr from passing to mount.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Thomas has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Starr is proving hard to escape from.

Blaze Thomas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Starr is breathing heavily.

Starr shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Starr showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Thomas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Starr gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Thomas keeping moving, preventing Starr from controlling successfully.

Blaze Thomas dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Tommy Starr's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Starr avoids the head kick by Thomas.
Thomas misses with the combination.
Thomas connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Starr gets a takedown into half guard.
Thomas is looking to escape.

Starr looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Starr wants to work for an arm triangle but Thomas is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Thomas connecting with a few gentle strikes.

Starr is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Thomas has managed to free his arm - good work.

Starr decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Starr shoots in and bounces Thomas off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Starr drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Starr jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Starr is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Thomas fails to land with a series of punches.
Thomas smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Thomas clobbers Starr with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Thomas lands a head shot.

Thomas tries to score with a low kick but Starr moves his leg out of the way.
Thomas smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Starr forces Thomas back against the cage and clinches.
Thomas has Starr pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Starr manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Starr is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Starr fails to pull guard.
Starr is working for takedown but Thomas is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tommy Starr. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Thomas can't break the clinch.
Thomas wants to break the clinch but can't.
Thomas wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tommy Starr will probably get the nod.

Good standup being displayed there by Thomas as he connects with a hook.
Thomas lands a really nice looking cross but Starr seems unphased.

Starr fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Thomas sprawls well initially but Starr persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Thomas blocking the ground and pound attempt from Starr.
Well, if Starr is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Thomas is refusing to be controlled, as Starr sits in half guard.
Starr is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Starr looking to ground and pound but Thomas is blocking nicely.

Starr throws some wild stikes that Thomas manages to avoid easily.
Starr tries to control but Thomas wriggling away.
Thomas tries to reverse the position but Starr maintains control.
Starr sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Thomas tries to hold on but Starr postures up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Starr can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Thomas is looking to escape.
Starr has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Thomas's face.

Starr has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Thomas is forced to tap!
