The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cotto uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Cotto avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Cotto lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Cotto misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Miguel Cotto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cotto ducks under a wild hook from Doolittle.

Oh Doolittle is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cotto cracks Doolittle with a big uppercut, right up the middle and Doolittle goes down! Oh, he's hurt! He's bigtime hurt! The referee is giving him a chance to get back to his feet - 4,5,6,7, no, he's called it off! Doolittle wasn't going to make it and the fight is over!

Miguel Cotto decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
