Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kobayashi Jin (ranked 527 p4p, 76 weight class) and Guido Turturro (ranked 175 p4p, 26 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kobayashi Jin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Guido Turturro!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jin lands a really nice looking cross but Turturro seems unphased.
Jin misses with a body punch
and Turturro counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Jin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Turturro moves away.
Turturro has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Turturro is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jin.
Turturro fails in his attempt to clinch.
Turturro walks into a straight right hand from Jin.
Turturro tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
It looked like Jin wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Turturro scores with a sloppy right hand. Jin should have avoided that one.


It looks like Kobayashi Jin has been cut.
A jab lands there for Jin.
Turturro is looking to clinch.
Jin feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Turturros jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Jin drops his hands momentarily and Turturro takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Turturro fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jin, pushing him back against the cage.

Jin tries to work over Turturro's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Turturro decides to pull guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Jin's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Jin avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Turturro is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jin is aware though and is defending well.

Turturro working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Jin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Turturro manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Jin wants to pass to mount but Turturro is defending the position.

Turturro is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jin pulls his head out easily.
Jin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Turturro keeps working.
Turturro is trying to maintain the position but Jin is very close to passing his half guard.

Jin is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Turturro has managed to free his arm - good work.

Turturro is trying to control but Jin passes into side control!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Turturro is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Jin jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Turturro manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Turturro can't do much from the bottom here.

Jin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Turturro is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Turturro closes the distance and clinches.
Jin misses with a body punch.
A head punch on the inside from Jin fails to land.
Turturro tries to pull guard but Jin holds him up against the cage and eventually Turturro drops back down to his feet.
Jin lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Turturro.

Jin breaks the clinch.
Turturro fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jin manages to avoid it.
Jin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Turturro can do to turn this around?
Turturro misses with a straight left.
Turturro moves in looking to clinch but Jin pushes him off.

Jin shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Turturro tries to roll over but Jin keeps him under control.

Turturro has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jin is working away from the top position though.
