Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sleepy Floyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yamuza Akimocha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sleepy Floyd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Yamuza Akimocha! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Paulo Santos and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Akimocha dips to his left and cracks Floyd with an uppercut! Akimocha shoots for a double leg takedown but Floyd sprawls well. He's pushed Akimocha's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Floyd looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Floyd loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Floyd is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Akimocha lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Floyd! Floyd on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Floyd tries to get out of the position. Floyd tries to hold on but Akimocha pushes him away. Floyd just holding on. Akimocha can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Floyd is looking to escape.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Sleepy Floyd just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Floyd swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Akimocha tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Akimocha has his takedown stuffed and Floyd counters with a nice double leg into side control. Akimocha won't be happy with that.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Akimocha is looking to reverse the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Akimocha is letting Floyd control him for a moment. Akimocha struggling a bit here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Akimocha managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Floyd.
You can see the frustration on Akimocha's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sleepy Floyd dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Nice defenses there by Floyd. Akimocha uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Floyd. Floyd has managed to clinch.
Floyd's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Akimocha with a lazy takedown attempt and Floyd counters with a takedown into side control. Akimocha is looking for a sweep. Akimocha is trying to control Floyd's posture but Floyd avoids it. Akimocha managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Floyd.

That's one minute gone in the round. Floyd misses with a head shot. Floyd knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Akimocha on the ground. Floyd prevents Akimocha from getting the reversal. Akimocha is trying to reverse the position but instead Floyd has taken his back - oops! Akimocha tries to roll but Floyd sticks to his back.
Akimocha is breathing heavily. Floyd is persistently looking for the submission but Akimocha is defending it well.
Akimocha grimaces as he takes a shot to the body. Floyd controls the action.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Akimocha tries to escape but Floyd has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Floyd looking to break Akimocha's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Akimocha remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Floyd will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Akimocha is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. You can see the frustration on Akimocha's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Akimocha rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Akimocha is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Floyd stopping the sweep attempt from Akimocha. Akimocha is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Floyd is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Akimocha throws a jab when Floyd was well out of range. Akimocha tries for a takedown but Floyd circles away easily and Floyd counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Sleepy Floyd is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Floyd closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Akimocha wants to break the clinch but can't.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Akimocha jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Floyd walks away with a smile on his face. Akimocha gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Sleepy Floyd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yamuza Akimocha. Akimocha wants to clinch and Floyd counters with a single leg into guard. Akimocha didn't expect that. Akimocha trying to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sleepy Floyd dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Akimocha swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Akimocha tries to clinch and Floyd counters with a nice double leg into guard. Akimocha wants to sweep but no luck. Floyd has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Floyd controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Floyd preventing the sweep.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Floyd postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Akimocha is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Floyd, into his guard. Floyd is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Floyd keeping moving, preventing Akimocha from controlling successfully. Akimocha advances to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Akimocha tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Floyd. Akimocha in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Floyd tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Akimocha!
