Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Xander Machado (ranked 2170 p4p, 277 weight class) and Jako Day (ranked 2479 p4p, 316 weight class). Machado's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Latin Thugs. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Aafke Stam and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machado bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Machado looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
A left lands for Machado.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Machado checks a leg kick.
Sloppy strikes from Day. Those never looked like landing.
Machado looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Day looks to land a combination but Machado avoids it well.
Day has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like Jako Day has been cut.
A slow jab from Day misses its intended target.
Machado is looking to counter the offense by Day and move into the clinch.

Jako Day seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Day throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Machado throws a big counter combination but Day scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

and Machado counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Day throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Machado counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

enabling Machado to counter with a crisp jab.

Day tries a quick counter leg kick but Machado is wise to it.

Day comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Day throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Machado misses with a combination
and as Machado tries to reset, Day cracks him with a perfect counter right hand that drops him to the mat! Machado is trying to get up but he's doing the chicken dance and face plants back to the floor - that's enough for the referee and he's called the bout! This one is all over!
