Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivo Lopes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenta Kobashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kenta Kobashi is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ivo Lopes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kenta Kobashi! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Edson Gomes and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lopes misses with a double jab.
No luck for Lopes with that takedown attempt. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Kobashi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Kobashi is looking to clinch. Lopes shoots in and drives through. Kobashi sprawls well. Lopes moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
It looks like Ivo Lopes has been cut. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Kobashi has eaten all the pies! Kobashi catches Lopes napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Lopes to the canvas!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kobashi is in close to Lopes's body, working some short punches and elbows. Kobashi trying to control the position from guard on top but Lopes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lopes looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kobashi has picked Lopes up and slammed him! Lopes can't keep hold of the triangle and Kobashi manages to pass to side control! Kobashi trying to control the action but Lopes is working from the bottom. Kobashi moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Kobashi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kobashi lands a nice forearm strike. Kobashi is chipping away with strikes.
Kobashi decides to stand up, so the ref orders Lopes to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kobashi works the jab nicely. Donk. Lopes catches Kobashi right on the button with a cross. Kobashi tries to clinch up but Lopes circles away and keeps his distance. Lopes shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kobashi pinned against the cage. Kobashi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ivo Lopes. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kobashi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lopes paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kobashi pushes Lopes up against the cage in a clinch. Lopes fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Kobashi manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lopes tries to stand but Kobashi is controlling from the bottom. Lopes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kobashi is on top in guard.

Kobashi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Lopes is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Lopes throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Lopes pulls Kobashi in to control the position. Kobashi keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Lopes's head. Kobashi is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lopes working a defensive guard here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Kobashi is looking to clinch. Lopes fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Lopes shoots in but Kobashi avoids the takedown attempt easily. Kobashi bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Lopes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kobashi on the ground. Lopes tries to improve position but can't. Kobashi scores with punches from side control. Lopes sneaks back into half guard. Kobashi takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Lopes trying to control but Kobashi postures up.
Kobashi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lopes is just riding it out for now. Kobashi eventually gives up the hold.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kobashi missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Lopes trying to control from the bottom.
Lopes is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kobashi's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kobashi's back! Lopes lands a punch to the side of the head from the back. Lopes connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Kobashi to escape the position.
Lopes is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Lopes gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Lopes gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Lopes apologises and we restart here on the feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lopes fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Kobashi checks it well. Lopes listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lopes shoots in but Kobashi avoids the takedown attempt easily. Lopes's corner calls for a 1-2. Lopes obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kenta Kobashi dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ivo Lopes's cut. That's time! Lopes's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Kobashi is squirming around, avoiding Lopes's attempts to control the action. Kobashi wants to control but Lopes is having none of it. Kobashi flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
You get the feeling that Kobashi really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Lopes cracks Kobashi with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Ivo Lopes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lopes lands a nice forearm strike. Lopes wants to stand but Kobashi is controlling his arm. You can see the frustration on Kobashi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Lopes working the body and head with strikes. Kobashi pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Lopes tumbling to the mat - Kobashi dives into Lopes's guard. Lopes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Lopes keeping moving, preventing Kobashi from controlling successfully. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Lopes is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Kobashi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lopes swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. A left and a right from Lopes both land. Nice combination. Kobashi moves in looking to clinch but Lopes pushes him off. Lopes shoots for a double leg takedown but Kobashi sprawls well. He's pushed Lopes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Lopes closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Kobashi wants to control but Lopes postures up. Lopes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kobashi keeps working. Kobashi is trying to control Lopes's posture but Lopes avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lopes trying to control the action but Kobashi is working from the bottom. Kobashi throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. Kobashi struggling a bit here. Lopes in side control lands a decent elbow. Lopes decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kobashi to his feet. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lopes lands a jab-cross combination. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lopes with a hook. A nice inside leg kick there by Kobashi. That's going to slow Lopes down.
And that's the end of the fight! Ivo Lopes showed his dominance in that final round. I think Lopes has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
