Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chris Columbus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tourney Man! The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Summer Carpenter and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Man throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Columbus sees it coming and avoids it easily. Columbus tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Man manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Columbus fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Man checks it well. Man doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. A jab from Man misses. Columbus misses with a combination
and Man cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Columbus throws a sloppy head kick and Man counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Man misses with an uppercut. Columbus half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Man keeps the fight on the outside. Man looks like he wants to counter punch here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Columbus shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Man counters with a straight right hand. Nice uppercut there from Man. Columbus tries for a takedown but Man circles away easily and Man counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round. No joy there for Columbus, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Columbus misses with a body punch
and Man counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like Chris Columbus has been cut. Columbus shoots and misses and Man counters with a straight right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Columbus. That's going to take a lot out of him. Columbus throws a combination that misses letting Man counter with a right hand. Man lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Nice uppercut there from Man. Columbus swings away with a body shot that misses
and Man counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Columbus has his takedown stuffed letting Man counter with a right hand. Columbus is breathing heavily. Man stuns Columbus with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Columbus closes the distance but Man moves to the side letting Man counter with a right hand. Columbus shoots and misses and Man counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Man might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Columbus swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
letting Man counter with a right hand. Man connects with a nice looking jab.
Man bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Columbus's head. Man lands a nice shot that snaps Columbus's head back.
Columbus is rocked!
Chris Columbus's cut is getting worse. Man circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Columbus tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Man wins by KO!
