Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hershel Mccullough (ranked 23514 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trevor Jones (ranked 2894 p4p, 287 weight class). Trevor Jones will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hershel Mccullough! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Trevor Jones! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones clinches with his opponent.
Jones tries to break free but Mccullough pushes him back against the cage. Mccullough could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Stalling in the clinch from Jones.
Jones is trying to force a seperation but Mccullough has the dominant position. Jones looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. A quick uppercut on the inside from Jones. Jones lands a right hand that snaps the head of Mccullough backwards. Jones taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones is trying to force a seperation but Mccullough has the dominant position. Jones working hard to break the clinch. Jones leaning his opponent against the cage. Jones doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mccullough has Jones pressed against the cage, preventing Jones from circling away and getting back to striking at range. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Mccullough keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Jones's efforts to push away. Mccullough jumps guard but Jones turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Mccullough takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Jones pushes Mccullough up against the cage in a clinch. Jones lands with a short punch from the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones is trying to break free. Jones lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Mccullough has Jones pressed against the cage, preventing Jones from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Jones tries to break free but Mccullough pushes him back against the cage. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Jones as Mccullough tries to tie him up. Jones is trying to break free. Mccullough breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jones is struggling to control the position. Mccullough wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Jones has had enough of the clinch but Mccullough keeps him there for the moment. Mccullough prevents Jones from breaking the clinch. Jones wants to break the clinch but can't.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Jones takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. A battle for position here, against the cage. Mccullough let out a lung full of air as it connected. Jones is trying to push Mccullough away but Mccullough has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Mccullough working hard to break the clinch. Mccullough prevents Jones from breaking the clinch. Mccullough is trying to pull guard but Jones turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Mccullough letting Jones take a breather here. Mccullough prevents Jones from breaking the clinch. Mccullough jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jones walks away with a smile on his face. Mccullough gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hershel Mccullough. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Trevor Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jones stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jones wants it to stay on the feet. Mccullough shoots in but Jones avoids the takedown attempt easily. Jones clinches up against the cage. Trevor Jones seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Jones has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Jones goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Mccullough prevents a body shot from Jones. Mccullough changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jones fights it off and pushes away nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones taking a breather. Mccullough breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mccullough tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mccullough somewhat. Jones appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Jones misses with a double jab.

Jones throws a combination that misses and Mccullough counters with a lovely shot to the body. Jones misses with a two punch combination.
As Jones looks to move away, Mccullough throws a big counter combo but Jones just gets out of the way. Hershel Mccullough is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jones misses with a body shot
and Mccullough counters with a one-two to the body. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jones misses the shot to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones cracks Mccullough with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Mccullough shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jones as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hershel Mccullough. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jones lands a lovely overhand right. Jones gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mccullough to score an easy takedown into full guard. Jones preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Jones trying to keep a closed guard but Mccullough is proving a slippery customer.
Jones had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mccullough defends it easily. Mccullough wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones is trying to keep Mccullough in close.
Mccullough working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jones's head. Jones is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Mccullough has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mccullough controls the pace. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Jones working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mccullough.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mccullough gets tackled into the cage by Jones. Jones maintains the clinch. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Jones. Hershel Mccullough has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Trevor Jones is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Jones prevents a body shot from Mccullough.
