And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Barros!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Felipe Paraventi and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barros shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Cairn moves into the clinch successfully.
Cairn with a knee to the head.


It looks like Ricardo Barros has been cut.
Barros looks gassed!
Cairn gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Barros.
Barros takes a knee right on the jaw!
Cairn landing knees to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cairn lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Cairn connects with a massive knee from the clinch and Barros goes down! Cairn jumps into full mount looking to finish!


Barros is rocked!


That has opened up Ricardo Barros's cut even more.
Cairn content just to control the position here.
Barros is still in real trouble! Can Cairn finish him?
Barros seems to have recovered his senses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barros wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
What can Barros do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Cairn's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Cairn has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Argyle Cairn just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The cut above Ricardo Barros's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Cairn has Barros pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Barros is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Cairn - that's hurt Barros badly! Oh, another knee lands and Barros is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Barros doesn't seem to be complaining.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Argyle Cairn!
