Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nelis Mulder (ranked 3298 p4p, 387 weight class) and Dan Driscoll (ranked 3613 p4p, 417 weight class). Nelis Mulder has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nelis Mulder! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dan Driscoll! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Winston Alpacca and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mulder tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Driscoll was well out of range. Poor timing from Mulder. Driscoll drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Mulder defends it well. Mulder defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Driscoll. Mulder changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Driscoll throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mulder's waist but Mulder gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Driscoll off to one side. Mulder manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Driscoll on his heels. He'll look to pass Driscoll's guard now, I'm sure. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Mulder stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Driscoll swivels though and keeps the full guard. Driscoll has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Buoy Training. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Driscoll trying to keep a closed guard but Mulder is proving a slippery customer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Driscoll wants to sweep but no luck. Mulder trying to control the position from guard on top but Driscoll is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Driscoll not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Mulder is keen to just control but Driscoll is a slippery customer. Mulder has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Mulder goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Driscoll turns into him and now he's in Mulder's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Driscoll slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Mulder wants to advance to full mount but Driscoll doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Mulder looking to pass the guard. Driscoll tries to land a sweep but no joy. Mulder tries to free his leg and advance position but Driscoll is retaining full guard. Driscoll had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mulder defends it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Mulder works a leg free and moves into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mulder in particular looking to stall. Mulder passes the guard and advances to mount! Mulder is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Driscoll has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Driscoll! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mulder looking to hit a scissor sweep but Driscoll is one step ahead there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Driscoll shoots for a double leg takedown but Mulder sprawls well. He's pushed Driscoll's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Mulder swings for the body but Driscoll moves out of range.

Mulder is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Driscoll can do to turn this around? Driscoll looks to score some points with some ground and pound. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mulder looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Driscoll is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mulder's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mulder's back! Driscoll struggling to keep hold of the position.

He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Mulder! Driscoll regains half guard there - taking advantage of Mulder's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Driscoll trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

Mulder is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
