Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Harvey Castro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Austin Tequesas!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Saam Ante and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tequesas throws a wild body kick that Castro sees coming a mile off.
Castro appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Tequesas throws a combination that misses
and Castro connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Austin Tequesas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Castro avoids the head kick by Tequesas.

Tequesas shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Tequesas is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Tequesas breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Castro really is a fat lump.
Tequesas stuns Castro with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Tequesas gets the takedown into side control.

Castro sneaks out the side door and pushes Tequesas away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Castro takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Tequesas shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Tequesas showed some decent athleticism there.
Castro tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Tequesas manages to move to mount!

Castro moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Tequesas decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Castro throws a jab when Tequesas was well out of range.

Tequesas tries to counter by closing the distance.
Tequesas throws a series of punches but Castro moves out of range.
Tequesas throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Tequesas looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Castro is trying to maintain the position but Tequesas is very close to passing his half guard.
Castro makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Castro.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Castro is on top in guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tequesas lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Tequesas lands a head kick. Castro smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Castro slips a jab and a cross from Tequesas.
Tequesas is breathing heavily.
Castro lands with a shot to the body.
Castro just misses with a punch to the body.
Tequesas ducks under a wild hook from Castro.
Tequesas misses with a wild combination.
Tequesas avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Despite the aggression on Tequesas's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Nice defenses there by Tequesas.
Tequesas misses with a double jab.
Tequesas scores with a kick to the midsection.
Castro has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Castro is looking to clinch but Tequesas is avoiding it.

and Castro counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tequesas won't be happy with that.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Castro goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Tequesas has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Castro but great work by Tequesas.

Castro manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tequesas manages to get himself to full guard.

Castro controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Castro is in close to Tequesas's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Castro thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Castro postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Castro sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Tequesas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Castro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tequesas utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Castro chips away with some ground and pound.
Castro not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Castro's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Tequesas throws a right and a left that both miss.
Castro is looking to counter the offense by Tequesas and move into the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Castro looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Tequesas has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Tequesas is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Austin Tequesas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Castro bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tequesas's guard.

Tequesas is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Castro drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Tequesas dives on top into guard.


Tequesas stands up from Castro's guard - Tequesas perhaps looking for a knockout.

Tequesas looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Tequesas takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Castro is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tequesas's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tequesas's back!
Castro has good solid back control here.

Tequesas is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Castro gets his way!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Castro has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Tequesas's body.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tequesas tries to roll but Castro sticks to his back.

Castro working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Tequesas is doing well to defend. Castro seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Tequesas is forced to tap and this one is over!
