Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Buddy Bishop! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Connor Mcgreggor! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcgreggor scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Bishop throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Bishop shoots in and drives through. Mcgreggor sprawls well. Mcgreggor closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bishop to the mat! Bishop manages to get full guard. Bishop is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Mcgreggor presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A body shot lands from Bishop.
Mcgreggor keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Bishop's efforts to push away. Mcgreggor turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mcgreggor controls the position. Bishop is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Mcgreggor is controlling him well. Bishop is trying to get back to half guard. Bishop manages to work his way to half guard, despite Mcgreggor's best efforts. Bishop is looking to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mcgreggor drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mcgreggor jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Bishop has a closed guard, preventing Mcgreggor from standing up. Bishop manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mcgreggor manages to get himself to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Bishop working some strikes from top position. Mcgreggor controls Bishop momentarily but Bishop frees himself. Bishop scoring with punches to the head and body. Bishop has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bishop stopping the sweep attempt from Mcgreggor. Bishop trying to control the position from guard on top but Mcgreggor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bishop's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bishop really is a fat lump.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bishop shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mcgreggor as he avoids it easily. Despite the aggression on Mcgreggor's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Mcgreggor shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bishop's guard. Mcgreggor looks winded! Bishop keeping moving, preventing Mcgreggor from controlling successfully. Bishop looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Bishop has his feet on Mcgreggor's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Mcgreggor clinches up with Bishop and pushes him back against the cage. Mcgreggor jumps into guard, dragging Bishop to the mat.
Bishop missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Bishop lands a couple of elbows. Bishop connects with a couple of short punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bishop throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mcgreggor works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Mcgreggor is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Bishop working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Bishop might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Bishop lands a couple of digs. Mcgreggor preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Bishop is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Bishop's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bishop drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bishop jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bishop looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mcgreggor is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Mcgreggor shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bishop napping and manages to drive through into side control! Bishop is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Mcgreggor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bishop. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Bishop tries to bench press Mcgreggor off him but Mcgreggor keeps the position. Bishop is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Mcgreggor not doing much here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bishop wants to get back to full guard. Bishop misses with some strikes from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcgreggor is thwarting Bishop's attempts to control the position. Bishop manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Mcgreggor keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Mcgreggor breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Bishop. Mcgreggor gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bishop to score an easy takedown into full guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bishop throws a big elbow that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bishop scoring with some ground and pound. Bishop in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Bishop throws a big right hand that misses. Bishop trying to control but Mcgreggor is working from the bottom. Mcgreggor controls Bishop momentarily but Bishop frees himself. Bishop chips away with some ground and pound. Bishop is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mcgreggor can do to turn this around? Mcgreggor escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bishop gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Mcgreggor looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Bishop passes into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bishop lands a few punches from side control. Mcgreggor is trying to escape the position but Bishop is controlling the position. Bishop is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mcgreggor knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Bishop throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mcgreggor is looking to regain half guard here but Bishop keeps moving and retains side control. Mcgreggor taking punishment in the form of punches.
Bishop tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bishop is looking to take a break and control but Mcgreggor is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mcgreggor tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bishop wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bishop wants to control but Mcgreggor is keeping him busy.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Buddy Bishop dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Mcgreggor closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Bishop explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Bishop shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mcgreggor pinned against the cage. Mcgreggor gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Mcgreggor stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mcgreggor wants it to stay on the feet. Mcgreggor throws a series of strikes that have Bishop backpedaling.
It looks like Buddy Bishop has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mcgreggor clinches up against the cage. Mcgreggor tries to stall but Bishop uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mcgreggor pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Connor Mcgreggor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bishop fails with the takedown. As Bishop backs off Mcgreggor throws a huge counter combo but Bishop manages to avoid it all. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Buddy Bishop. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mcgreggor swats away the attempt to clinch by Bishop. Mcgreggor shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Bishop has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Mcgreggor off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Bishop shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mcgreggor but Mcgreggor pushes him off and we're back to square one. Mcgreggor scores with a takedown into Bishop's guard. Bishop has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Mcgreggor has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mcgreggor has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bishop uses from the top position. Bishop showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Bishop trying to control the position from guard on top but Mcgreggor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bishop accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bishop chips away with some ground and pound.

Bishop is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Bishop landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Bishop missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Mcgreggor has hold of Bishop's hands but Bishop slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Bishop seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Mcgreggor wants to get back to full guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Mcgreggor works his way to full guard. Good work. Mcgreggor is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bishop is controlling him. Connor Mcgreggor has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Buddy Bishop is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Bishop is stalling in the full guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Buddy Bishop. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bishop, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
